From Faculty Academy 2007 Wiki
Abstract
Important topics from last year's Faculty Academy were "Web 2.0" and DTLT's use of Bluehost to foster experimentation with new tools. In "Monster M*A*S*H*U*P*S," we revisit both of those topics: "mash-up" is a term often used in conjunction with Web 2.0, and "mashing-up" aptly describes much of the ITSs' work over the past year.
We will start with the variety of conceptualizations of a mash-up, especially as they relate to the mission of higher education. From there, we will each discuss a few of our favorite mash-ups. This will include mashing-up as an artistic and interpretive practice, using del.icio.us to produce mash-ups, and how the practices of mashing-up can be used to reimagine a course management system.
